Establishing Consistency

Establishing Consistency

By Pastor Robert West

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed” John 8:31

If the people of God are to be the champions that God’s word says that we are to be, consistency has to be a must in the lives of believers. In the average life of a believer there is always a roller coaster type of events that hinder the believer from developing the way that we should. There is a power behind tis roller coaster called inconsistency. Inconsistencies show up in the believer’s prayer life, worship, praise and even in studying God’s word.

Inconsistency is pushed by a mindset called procrastination. (Not doing it until later) When procrastination is present in the mind of the believer, it will trickle down to the believer’s feelings which in turn will tackle the believer’s will.

There is only one thing that can help the believer fight against being inconsistent and that is the word of God. God’s word will help us to demonstrate the following:

  • True Love (Agape)                              John 15:9
  • True Discipleship                                John 8:31
  • True Riches                                          Luke 16:11
  • True Worship                                      John 4:23
  • True Praise                                          Matthew 21:16
  • True Witness                                       Acts 1:8, 1 Peter 2:21
  • True Unity                                           Psalm 133:1
  • True Blessing                                       Psalms 133:3
  • True Power                                          Romans 15:13

Believers are the people in this world that must be in the proving business (Galatians 6:4) with this in mind proof can’t come until there is more consistency seen in believers. When believers become more consistent in prayer, worship, praise and everything that is God centered, the world will have no other choice but to acknowledge that God is the way. The saints must find out for themselves that God’s power is manifested through the saints being consistent. (Romans 12:1-2)
